The city is at the mouth
of the Cheboygan River on Lake Huron. US 23 connects with I-75 at
Mackinaw City and the Mackinac Bridge, about 15 miles to the northwest.
Rogers City is about 41 miles to the southeast. M-27 runs south from
the city along the north shore of Mullett Lake to I-75 at Indian River
about 18 miles to the southwest. M-33 runs due south along the east
shore of Lake Mullett to M-68 about 20 miles to the south.
The Cheboygan Trail Blazers
do a wonderful job grooming the trails each winter. The group takes
care of more than 37-miles of trails, grooming daily! They also brush
the trails in the fall. If you would like to make a donation to this
organization, it would be greatly appreciated. Their address is: Cheboygan
Trail Blazers, P.O. Box 5223, Cheboygan, Michigan 49721.
Don't forget that there
are now trails into Downtown Cheboygan from the DNR trail - stop in
to Shop, Dine, & Unwind!
For information on snowmobile
rentals, trail permits and trail maps, contact the Chamber office,
800-968-3302. We can also provide information on lodging, cross-country
skiing and snowshoe rentals. Enjoy your winter in Cheboygan! Please
note that the City of Cheboygan has added additional streets to their
snowmobiling routes on a trial basis this winter. The idea is to allow
better access to many more stores, gas stations, restaurants & motels.
